Trunk Parties?!

Have you guys heard of these? My niece recently had one before she left Chicago,  for College. Apparently, they are similar to Bridal, Wedding, and Baby showers. The guest are all to bring things a College student would need for life in the dorms. I sure wish they had those back in the day, my roomie and I would have had a blast! I can still remember getting ready to go away. The most people gave us were FOOD STAMPS and we were soooo happy!

Exactly! All of my college age cousins have had these trunk parties when going off to college in recent years. Including the yound men! Why didnt we think of that?

Hey Tip,

YES… I WAS THINKING THE EXACT SAME THING. My cousin that left for school a couple of years ago had one. I’ve been hearing of these “trunk parties” for the past few years. And when all witnessed all the gifts he received…I WAS LIKE BOY I WISH MY MOM WOULD HAVE THOUGHT TO GIVE ME ONE. TIPPI AND I WOULD HAVE BEEN STRAIGHT!!!!

remember all those food stamps people gave us? we would buy those frozen burritos! remember the time you told me not to eat your vienna saugaes and i thought u were playing and ate some and u were like they got pork in them and i started crying up a storm! at first you were laughing until u saw me going crazy bulemic!

and our matching bedset and towels. i saw pics on calandra’s page of our apartment. i instantly recognized the yellow living room set with the plastic covers my uncle gave us! i think we weere on only people in dekalb with matching furniture. everyone else has mix mathed stuff.

both of our families made sure we had everything we needed…even without a truck party…and your church hooked u up!
